Momma Sood as her patients call her is a Multicultural, compassionate Pediatrician who believes in supporting both parents and their little ones. With a goal of keeping your child healthy and giving you peace of mind. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, completed her residency at the University of Connecticut Health Science Center, and has been in practice since 1987. Dr. Alka is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Umang is a family-focused pediatrician who brings the same open, caring communication she values with her husband and children into her work with patients. A five-time “Best Pediatrician” winner and yearly nominee, she is known for compassionate, clear guidance for families. She completed the accelerated six-year medical program at UMKC, trained in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine at Washington University and St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and later served five years as a Pediatric Hospitalist. She is Board Certified with the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

Dr. Latimer joined our Birth & Beyond family in July. She graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2012 and brings 13 years of thoughtful, evidence-based pediatric experience to our practice. As a busy mom of four children—all under 6—she truly understands the joys and challenges of parenthood and offers care that is compassionate, relatable, and deeply empathetic.
